Laurie retired in 2023 after 29 years of teaching. After a year of self-care and reflection, she felt compelled to work with young people again. When she is not nurturing her passion for teaching math, she spends time with her hubby Brad, her teenage daughter Mary, and her dog Toby. She loves a good book, time with friends and family, travel, and has recently immersed herself in the art of storytelling. She was born and raised here in New Mexico and went to UNM.
