Inquiry-Based Learning
We provide an inquiry-based curriculum that is college-preparatory and based on a liberal arts model. Our students learn to think critically and articulate thoughts clearly by conducting independent research to form a cohesive understanding of topics.
Leadership & Enrichment
Our students have ample opportunities to lead and enrich their educational experience through academic, extracurricular activities, and athletics. The purpose is for our students to be well-balanced people with passions beyond the classroom and understand how to contribute in team settings.
Authentic Relationships
Relationships are the heart of our model. Fostered through intentionality and small class sizes, authentic relationships promote connection, establish trust, and facilitate feedback among our staff and students alike. This creates an environment where everyone takes ownership of their learning.
Supportive Environment
We strive to meet our students’ most essential needs so that they can focus on academics. We invest deeply in wraparound supports, inclusive of counseling and tutoring, and guidance, offering both college and career planning. Our staff is mindful to ensure that no student falls through the cracks.

Future middle school
The premier 6-12 education experience
Sixth graders will be added to our campus by Fall 2026. We are excited to begin construction on our new facility that will house a new multi-purpose space, a new learning commons, and middle school classrooms.
When students enter the 6th-grade lottery, they will be guaranteed a spot for the next 7 years at East Mountain, the best charter school in the state of New Mexico. Our middle school program is defined by inquiry-based academics, leadership opportunities, a supportive environment, and outdoor learning experiences.
Any teachers or staff interested in employment opportunities for the new middle school can email Trey Smith.
