Marie graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Secondary Science Education. She holds a Master’s in Education from Eastern New Mexico University. While teaching at EM, she earned the APS Digital Innovator Badge, became a Level II Google Educator, Apple Certified Teacher, and received the 2022 AFRL STEMy HS Teacher of the Year Award. She is originally from El Paso, Texas, and lives in Edgewood with her husband, five girls, their two dogs, and a cat. She enjoys geeking out on all things science and fitness, being outdoors with her family, and reading (currently working on book 6 of the 13-book Wheel of Time series).
