Mr. Smith is a longtime employee of the school, having served in a wide variety of positions for the past 18 years. In addition to teaching, Mr. Smith founded the school’s Speech and Debate program and served as the Foundation’s Executive Director. Mr. Smith holds a license in Education Administration, as well as teaching licenses for English, Social Studies, and Gifted Education. He received his BA in English and Philosophy, his MA in Public Administration from the University of New Mexico, and is currently a doctoral candidate in Education Leadership through Arizona State University. Trey is humbled by the responsibility of leading one of the nation’s top public secondary schools and is grateful to work with the best colleagues every day. Trey enjoys living just 5 minutes away from the school and traveling the country with his 5-year-old son, Xavier, and wife of seventeen years, Cristin.
