Thanks to the awesome staff of New Mexico Gas Co. the JA Job Shadow Program was a GREAT success! The students of East Mountain High School felt your enthusiasm. We can’t thank you enough for giving your time and messages of hope, you embody the heart of JA of NM.
The Classes of 2027 & 2028 from East Mountain High School made the journey west to the Albuquerque Fire Rescue Academy to explore a career in the fire service.
AFR hires at 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license, so it’s never too early to start thinking about career paths.
These students climbed the tower, stretched lines, flowed water, performed searches, forced doors, donned gear and made rescue drags.
Thanks for stopping by EMHS! We hope this was an educational experience and we hope that we inspired some potential recruits for the next generation of AFR.
